THE ESSENTIAL JOURNEY

The film clip above was shot from a distance of about 80 fe et, on a single camera (Canon XL2) Sound was picked up directly from the camera microphone hence sound quality is not great.

Formed in early 2004 by four experienced ex-professional musicians / singers to fulfill a desire to play some classic favourite melodic rock tracks around the pub rock circuit, the band was originally called ’Renegade’ and played songs by Journey, Styx, Toto and Queen.  They were immediately pleased with how the American songs were received by audiences, more specifically many of the post-show comments were regarding the Journey songs and the band were surprised at just how many members of the audiences were lovers of Journey music.  After a handful of gigs and requests for particular songs the name was changed to ‘The Essential Journey ’ and the Journey content in the set list rapidly increased.
