The event was filmed with a Sony Z1 and Canon XM2 from various positions infront and around the floor area. A big shout goes out to Eve Morley the event organiser who did a fantastic job hosting the evening. An interview between Dave Charles & Eve and myself with the Winning Band can be seen here.
The fantastic Dave Charles from Market Harborough 102.3 who can be heard each Sunday night from 20:00-22:00 was one of the official judges of the event. The first band of the competition was Manchurian Candidate who were full of energy who quickly got the crowd "moshing" very early.
Then The Gilrays took to the playing area demonstrating their musical ability to an eager crowd.
The third (winning band) was Burning Warship, these very energetic musicians played like they were taken over by demons. Jimi the lead singer was a great crowd entertainer and certainly knew how to work the young crowd. Considering the band have only been playing together for about 8 months they are very tight and deserved to win although it has to be said it was a very close competition.
Lastly BackLine, the BOTB favourites to win came on and gave a spectacular performance. Giving it everything they had, they were out to impress the judges and inpress they did, sadly they were pipped by Burning Warship.
Well done to all four bands, a great night was had by all who atended and a personal thanks for staying away from my cameras whilst the "moshing" took place. |
