EQUIPMENT

SinVision chooses the following video and sound equipment below as the preferred choice when filming.

When it comes to choosing a professional video camera to use for your production company two brands spring to my mind straight away, namely Canon and Sony. We have used many types of camera's over the years of film production but found that Sony were the best for our projects.

CAMERA'S

SinVision has many camera's at it's disposal ranging from several Sony Ex3's Sony Z5's and the Sony Z1. All cameras are capable of shooting in true Hi Definition or in HDV mode with the Sony EX3 and Z5 able to shoot in progressive 25P mode. Our EX3 camera's have suffieicent card media to record 16 hours of continuos filming in any one project.

The Z5 also has the ability to copy video direct to a 32 gig CF media card allowing 3.5 hours of HDV footage on one card.

DOLLY AND TRAX SYSTEM

The Hague dolly and Trax system is a great bit of kit that we use practically on all of our shoots. It makes a dull boring shot come to life and you would not think that a small amount of movement can make such a change to in the dynamics of the shot.

The Tracking Dolly is ideal for use on location or in the studio, all you need is a reasonably flat surface. The dollies width has been set to allow it to go through doorways, it has its own levelling system which prevents any rocking should the track be on uneven ground.

STEDI CAM

The Stedi Cam is a fantastic piece of equipment allowing us to move around freely with any of the camera's fitted. With sophisticated joints, metal cables and springs the 2 arms allow ease of movement up, down and sideways all at the same time.

The plus point is the Stedicam allows any camera operator to get some fantastic smooth shots. The negitive side is back ache sets in, in a very short period of time and in really windy conditions the Stedicam becomes very hard to keep under control as the wind will blow the mass of camera and weights stopping you from getting the shot you are set up for.

SOUND / MICROPHONES

SinVision uses two differant makes of wireless microphones namely Sony and Sennheiser. Both makes are idealy suited for short range transmission with the Sennheiser having the edge over the Sony in the fact it doesn't pick up mobile phone chattering.

The NTG-3 is the result of years of development by RØDE engineers, providing the professional broadcast and film industries with an affordable yet uncompromising microphone.

Using a technology known as RF-bias the RØDE NTG-3 is almost completely resistant to moisture, making it the only option when recording in any demanding environments where condensation is an issue.

BULLET CAMERA'S

We have two differant types of bullet camera's which offer 4.3 and 16.6 perspective. SinVision uses the 720x576 Bullet Cam supplied by dogcam this particualr model gives great quality video and is currently the recommended product of choice. It's the only system available to achieve full DVD quality video and also has a built-in colour pre-view screen. This kit records in progressive scan mode so the video looks great on any TV or computer screen without having to de-interlace the video.

PORTABLE GREEN SCREEN CHROMA KEY STUDIO

With the portable Chroma key flash light kit, it allows me setup a green screen studio anywhere and in quick time. The portable green screen studio contains three lights with their own covers, adjustable height stands and the backdrop support system is designed to hold backgrounds of various types.

SinVision uses this particular product often as the ability to key out backgrounds and replace them with companies logo, graphics or even animation and film making it a key element to our video equipment.
