SinVision chooses the following video and sound equipment below as the preferred choice when filming.

When it comes to choosing a professional video camera to use for your production company two brands spring to my mind straight away, namely Canon and Sony. I used to use the Canon XM2 and XL1 camera but found that switching to Sony was the right decision as the Carl Zeis lens and colour quality provided by the Sony range had the edge over the Canon.

SinVision has three professional Sony camera's the Sony FX1, Z1 and the new Z5. All three cameras are capable of shooting in HDV with the Z5 able to shoot in progressive 25P mode. The Z5 also has the ability to copy video direct to a 32 gig CF media card allowing 3.5 hours of HDV footage on one card.

SinVision uses two differant makes of wireless microphones namely Sony and Sennheiser. Both makes are idealy suited for short range transmission with the Sennheiser having the edge over the Sony in the fact it doesn't pick up mobile phone chattering.

With both mics attached at the same time to either the Sony Z1 or Z5 camera's through their XLR connections I am able to be heard interviewing an individual whilst at the same time clearly hearing their response, thus I am not relying on having a seperate boom mic and operator.

The Hague dolly and Trax system is a great bit of kit that we use often. It makes a dull boring shot come to life and you would not think that a small amount of movement can make such a change to in the dynamics of the shot.

The Tracking Dolly is ideal for use on location or in the studio, all you need is a reasonably flat surface. The dollies width has been set to allow it to go through doorways, it has its own levelling system which prevents any rocking should the track be on uneven ground. To see an example of the trax system in use please check out the video's we created for Liz Corker Bride or Cavells for Living.tv.

The Stedi Cam is a fantastic piece of equipment allowing me to move around freely with any of my camera's fitted. With sophisticated joints, metal cables and springs the 2 arms allow ease of movement up, down and sideways all at the same time.

The plus point is the Stedicam allows any camera operator to get some fantastic smooth shots. The negitive side is back ache sets in, in a very short period of time and in really windy conditions the Stedicam becomes very hard to keep under control as the wind will blow the mass of camera and weights stopping you from getting the shot you are set up for.

The Cavision Dual Grip Shoulder Support is a great addition to our mini DV camera equipment. It's designed to allow our Sony series of camera's to be shoulder mounted. The Cavision shoulder support enables easier operation and reduces fatigue associated with hand-holding a camcorder.

The built in Lanc control Offers multiple controls including: Standby, Search (forward & backward), Auto Focus, Near Focus, Far Focus, On Screen (hide/show display), Rec On/Off, Photo & Variable Speed Zoom Lever. This system will allow me to move around more freely whilst filming at the forth coming Special Olympic Games in the Walkers Statium.

With the portable Chroma key flash light kit, it allows me setup a green screen studio anywhere and in quick time. The portable green screen studio contains three lights with their own covers, adjustable height stands and the backdrop support system is designed to hold backgrounds of various types.

SinVision uses this particular product often as the ability to key out backgrounds and replace them with companies logo, graphics or even animation and film making it a key element to our video equipment.

SinVision uses the 720x576 Bullet Cam supplied by dogcam this particualr model gives the highest quality video from and is currently the recommended product of choice. The ultimate bullet camera system!

It's the only system available to achieve full DVD quality video and also has a built-in colour pre-view screen. This kit records in progressive scan mode so the video looks great on any TV or computer screen without having to de-interlace the video.

The NTG-3 is the result of years of development by RØDE engineers, providing the professional broadcast and film industries with an affordable yet uncompromising microphone.

Using a technology known as RF-bias the RØDE NTG-3 is almost completely resistant to moisture, making it the only option when recording in any demanding environments where condensation is an issue.
